New York DJ MAZURBATE Claims He Was Assaulted During Art Basel Party Because of His Sexuality

He and his lawyer claim that he was assaulted with anti-gay slurs by security at FDR at Delano.
MAZURBATE

This past Friday, New York DJ MAZURBATE posted a note to Instagram and Twitter describing a violent altercation the night before between himself and the security at the Le Baron pop up club at FDR at Delano, during a party coinciding with Art Basel Miami Beach. His account of the events suggests that this seemed to be a hate crime related to the DJ's sexuality. The photo attached depicted a man MAZURBATE describes as his boyfriend wearing pants marked with the DJ's blood. The entire note is as follows:

"This is a photo of my blood on my boyfriends pants. Last night I was contracted by Le Baron to DJ the pop up in Miami at the @fdratdelano. I was told to remove my music by a security guard and end my set. Then when I was taking out my USBs, he yanked me, placed me in a chokehold, dragged me across the floor, pinned me on the floor in a hallway crushing my throat with his foot, and when I said I couldn't breathe he laughed and pressed down even harder. DJ @wadecrescent who was playing after me asked the security guards "why are you doing this to him" as they punched @illjahjah in the face, ripped off @lil_leaf_son 's clothes & snapped her neck back. I was an employee of this event and yet the security assaulted and beat me to the point where I bled, laughed at me, assaulted my friends, then laughed at my boyfriend and I because we were 'FAGGOTS' This is not okay and I need this to be known."

On Saturday, Page Six published a news story describing the events at the Delano Hotel, where a representative from the Delano gives the following commentary: "There was an altercation between two DJs and the DJ in question was approached by security to leave the DJ booth," he says. "He was asked to leave voluntarily and instead became violent, picked up a bottle as a weapon and pulled all of the wires out of the DJ booth, causing damage to the property. At that time he was removed."

Yesterday, the DJ published a follow-up on Instagram depicting a post removal notice from the app:

The post came with the following note, where the DJ claims that representative was lying, claims that he will not be silenced, and urges witnesses to send him any potentially helpful information if they were at the club Thursday night:

"@fdratdelano flagged my post about how they LIED in the page six article, they have gone private on their instagram, have detagged themselves in my posts, and DELETED all comments from my supporters as well as BLOCKED THEM on their instagram, as well as the @delanobeachclub. What happened to me, my boyfriend, and my best friend thursday night will NOT just go away and I will NOT be silenced. They said that I got VIOLENT, they said I picked up a BOTTLE as a weapon?! I have NEVER been VIOLENT in my LIFE and these lies will be proven wrong. If you were AT the @fdratdelano this past thursday night please DM or email me with ANY info that could lead to proving these LIES wrong. Please do NOT be scared as we as humans CANNOT be treated like the way I was thursday night, please tag and help spread the word of this security BRUTALITY."

We reached out to MAZURBATE for comment, and he directed us to his lawyer, Mark Eiglarsh, for comment, who offered: "My client was physically attacked and verbally assaulted with anti-gay slurs by a security guard at the Delano Hotel. We intend to hold him and the hotel responsible for their abhorrent and unlawful treatment."

THUMP reached out to the Delano hotel for additional comments following their statement for Page 6, and is awaiting a reply.
