Munich's picturesque beer halls aren't just good for guzzling some of the best German lager in the world; for many of the city's rich and famous, these local institutions are also some of the most swankiest places to be seen. Even members of the Bayern Munich soccer squad are known to show up for a taste, and especially during the city's annual Oktoberfest, some of these venues are actually quite selective about who they let through their doors.
That is, most of the time—on September 20th of this year, in between a visit to the Käferzelt Oktoberfest tent, also known as the "Beetle Tent," and the glitzy P1 club, the wife of a Hamburg millionaire allegedly stabbed a German truck driver. Reportedly, an argument had erupted after the woman, whose name has yet to be released, made some racist remarks about a guest she saw at the Käferzelt, ex-German national team soccer player Patrick Owomoyela, who is of German and Nigerian descent. Shortly after the incident, she was seen back partying at the P1 club with her friends.
According to Abendzeitung , a local Munich newspaper, after Owomoyela left the tent, the woman began asking surrounding patrons if the athlete was an "asylum seeker," and questioning why the club would even allow "refugees" through their doors. Eventually, an unknown man called the millionaire lady out on the asshole remarks; the argument quickly escalated to a physical altercation outside of the venue's entrance.
When a 33 year-old truck driver attempted to break up the melee, the woman withdrew a switchblade from her bag and stabbed the truck driver, an act she would later describe to the courts as an act of self-defense. Somehow, amid a crowd of screaming patrons and blood, the Hamburg managed to slipped away from the Oktoberfest grounds and was later seen partying at the P1 club in the city with her friends. For whatever reason, after almost killing a man, the racist, switchblade-wielding woman figured it best to let off steam with a little time on the dancefloor before turning herself in to the authorities the next morning, September 20. As reported by Abendzeitung, the woman will appear before the Munich Public Prosecutor's Office, who have requested a warrant for attempted murder.
The man injured was transported to the hospital, and is currently in reported stable condition. WTF.
