RL Grime Gives The Weeknd's "The Hills" the Heavier-Than-Heavy Remix It Needed

The LA producer turns the slightly mopey original into the banger it really wants to be.

The Weeknd's inescapable hit single "The Hills" might border on the lines of mopey for those obsessed with the perpetual turn-up. Luckily for those folks, RL Grime has done them a huge favor, flipping the track into a heavy newfound beast, with a new remix.

If you need a bit of historical background before listening, you should know that the LA producer has a very solid track record when it comes to cinematic, heavier-than-heavy Top 40 remixes. For evidence, check his versions of Rihanna's "Pour It Up" and Travi$ Scott ft. Young Thug's "Skyfall," the latter done in collaboration with Salva.

Upping the tempo and expanding the sonic palette of The Weeknd's tune with some ethereal synths, urgent percussion, and, of course, a super dramatic drop, it seems like RL Grime gave this track just what it needed. Take it for a spin below.
