Jaya Suartika is an Australian tattoo artist who adorns his patrons in geometric patterns, animals, and fragmented mythological images that deftly challenge the assumption that nobody ever uses geometry beyond junior high school math. Using strong black lines and high contrast, Suartika's meticulous attention to detail emerges in his figures and his shading. "I’m a big fan of shape, form and dedication to precision," Suartika tells This Is Radelaide, and it's evident in his bold inkings. Combining both 'classic' and Balinese tattoo styles, Suartika brings both a sense of tradition to the progressive Adelaide tattoo scene, and a modernity to his age-old shapes and forms.Outlined Thomas' first tattoo today.
