Penn State Scores With Perfectly Executed Misdirection

Everyone was covered except the guy who scored.

This is a nifty little play from the Nittany Lions, who are hosting Akron today. On first-and-ten from the Akron 22, Christian Hackenberg faked a handoff to Bill Belton, and then rolled out to his right.  Every single Akron player followed Hackenberg and the rest of the offense while Belton ran to the opposite sideline. There wasn't a soul near him and Hackenberg tossed an easy ball to him and he waltzed into the endzone untouched.

The second view, from behind the quarterback, gives you a great look at how Akron pursued Hackenberg all the way across the field and just how wide open Belton was. It's not a dazzling wide receiver grab, or a bruising running back brushing off tackles, but it is an entire offensive unit working together perfectly.
