Tottenham Title Hopes Still Alive, Lead Chelsea 2-1

Spurs are still in the title chase, Leicester most likely has to wait for Everton match to clinch.

Leicester City fans may have to sweat it out another week before clinching an improbable Premier League title because Tottenham appear on their way to winning at Stamford Bridge, something they haven't done since 1990. Harry Kane opened the score for Spurs in the 35th minute thanks a beautiful ball from Erik Lamela. The Argentine threaded the ball between John Terry and Cesar Azpilicueta, and Kane remained on onside before sneaking behind them both. He scooted around the keeper with two touches and slid it into the empty goal for a 1-0 lead.

Just before the end of the half, Spurs scored again thanks to some sloppy play from Chelsea. Christian Eriksen took advantage, feeding it to a sprinting Heung-Min Son, who beat Courtois with a low shot on the short side of the goal.

There were a few more fireworks before the whistle blew on the half, and even Spurs manager Pochettino got in on the act. All first half, you thought Jan Vertonghen and Diego Costa were going to finally pester each other into a fistfight, but it was actually Danny Rose and Willian who almost came to blows near the touchline. Pochettino tried to separate them and that just got everyone else involved for a nice little shoving match. Order was restored and both players were shown yellow cards before the half finally ended.

Gary Cahill just got Chelsea on the board in the 59th minute to make Tottenham sweat a little bit at 2-1, and they have dominated the run of play ever since. Spurs need to win this game to keep their hopes alive for a title season and if they can keep Chelsea at bay, it looks like Leicester will have to wait until next week at home against Everton. Which, let's be honest, would be a much more exciting and satisfying way to win it all, anyway.
