Canadiens Fan Angry Over Subban Trade Writes Goodbye Letter on Jersey

But, being the polite (likely) Canadian that Julie is, the note actually reads as pretty factual, and even includes well wishes for Subban with the Predators.

Trades can yield tremendous heartache—but that's the way the monied cookie crumbles, my friends. (Sweet, sweet money cookie.) For one fan in particular, the heartache of the Montreal Canadien's P.K. Subban trade for Shea Weber was wrenching enough that she gave up her jersey, put it on the Jean Beliveau memorial statue, and left a goodbye/hate note:

Upper part:

You can have this once-beloved jersey back. I have no more use for it. Once a fan, now so disappointed. - Julie Martin

Lower part:

The worst trade since Patrick Roy. Hoping PK Subban thrives in Nashville! He deserved better, and so do Habs fans. Stop making such huge mistakes.

But, being the polite (likely) Canadian that Julie is, the note actually reads as pretty factual—the harshest words being "mistake" and "disappointed"—and even includes well wishes for Subban with the Predators. But Julie's not wrong. It was a horrible trade.
