New Sounds from Joy Orbison, Midland and Commodo Make Our Seven Most Played Tracks of the Week

Everything we've been bumping in the office over the past week.

It's a good job today is April Fools day—obviously the most hilarious day of the year—because if it wasn't for all those hilarious branded gags and surprisingly uplifting visual content, we might have sunk into a very dark place this week. Don't worry, that's not due to the death of pint-sized punsman Ronnie Corbett (although that contributed), it's actually thanks to the gloomy and glitchy listening we've been subjecting ourselves to. From the swirling-crackles of Vella's "RO" produced by Joy Orbison, to the pulsing first sample of Midland's latest rattler, through the sinister baroque instrumentals of Commodo's "My Liege," there's definitely been something sterner in the air this week. The same atmosphere is present, if not as heavily, on Mr Fingers take on Simoncino's latest L.I.E.S. release and subtle squelches of "Mad About You" from DJ Wave. Just for good measure we've also stuck in two incredible mixes that dropped this week, courtesy of Paramida on Beats in Space and Or:la for Crack Magazine.
