The Belgrade-based electronic sound artist Nenad Marković—who performs under the enigmatic name 33.10.3402 (occasionally suffixing the name with "b.c.")—has shared a new cut, and it does a good job at being as perplexing as its creator."Mecanica No 1" is a cut from the producer's forthcoming Untitled 12", and his first release with the Brooklyn experimental techno label L.I.E.S. Records. If the Dadaists had made techno, it might sound something like the low-bit beat work Marković provides here, with digital springs and processed gears bouncing and cranking throughout while a dismembodied voice laughs from afar. Listen to it below.According to Juno Plus, Marković first began turning heads in 2013, when he released his Mecanica 12"s, a series inspired by "opium dens and whorehouses," for the producer Andrew Hogge's ESP Institute label. Marković also releases work under his own name for Prins Thomas's Internasjonal label.Untitled will be released by L.I.E.S. on March 26.
