John Scott Named NHL All-Star MVP

John Scott wins MVP.

The Pacific Division beat the Atlantic division 1-0 to win the NHL All-Star Game and the guy everyone but the NHL wanted there was just named MVP. John Scott scored two goals in the event—he went top shelf on his second—razzed the hell out of Jeremy Roenick, and provided the NHL with a wonderful couple of days.

As soon as the game was over, Pierre McGuire interviewed the big man and the crowd immediately started chanting M-V-P1 M-V-P! M-V-P! Then his teammates scooped him up and put him on their shoulders. Moments later, the PA address announced the MVP winner, and of course it was Scott. He got a car, a hilarious picture of himself towering over Gary Bettman, and a key to Superman's Fortress of Solitude trophy.

Scott couldn't have handled this better, he was like a kid in a candy store the whole weekend and it gave the NHL a huge boost in morale after painting itself into a crummy corner.
