Abby Wambach is nearing the end of her career and she took a few moments to put it all in context for herself and the people watching in this great clip from FOX's pre-game show. Prior to recording her message, she asked that everyone leave the room and let her speak directly to the camera alone in an otherwise dark room.Wambach ruminated on the twilight of her career, the pride in playing for the national team, and the support from her friends, family, and teammates during her time playing.
The whole thing is well worth the seven minutes, and who knows, maybe the rest of her teammates watched it before blasting the doors off of the first half of the Final."If you're out there and you have a dream and you want something and you want something so bad, you gotta risk everything, you gotta risk being completely devastated if you don't achieve it and when you fall down you gotta get back up. And so that's what this means. That's what this is. That's who we are."
