A Year of Lil Wayne: Take 5

A feverish pause for the six-month milestone.

Day 181: "Don't Kill" – Dedication 5, 2013

Today marks six months of A Year of Lil Wayne, with six months remaining (due to the number of days in the various months, the numerical halfway point will actually be on Wednesday). There is so much left to do and so little time to do it. But we've had some fun along the way, haven't we? Haven't we? OK, to be honest, we need the next six months to be even more fun, even more packed with dope history and sweet facts and stories for the ages. We will do our best.

But today, we must take a brief pause because I am sick and feverish—probably ranting right now, but too delirious to tell—and I have no grand insights or great research or cutting commentary to add. I need more life, not More Life. I need Five Alive not Dedication 5. We'll be back to our regularly scheduled programming tomorrow, but for now how about these feverish lyrics?

I'm so high I left Earth
And ran into Venus and Serena
Get head like a mind reader
You washed up, I'm the dry cleaner
Don't worry about me, nigga I'm one-
Hundred like a high fever

Damn. It's true. I'm gonna go get some Gatorade and eat some soup now.
