Make Your Own Fast Food Feast at Home

Making your favorite burgers, chicken tenders, and tacos at home is the ultimate guarantee that you'll have it your way.

Hey readers! It's been one hell of a week for us. We've explored everything from burger deliveries in Cairo to the urban legends of KFC and clogged your feed (and possibly your arteries) with all things fast food.

Now, the time has come to bid farewell to Fast Food Week, and what better way to do that than by making your very own fast food feast at home? We pulled a smorgasbord of staples together so you can mix and match the classics at home without having to take a road trip to a half-dozen drive-thru windows.

Needless to say, these are all crowd-pleasers and they also pair nicely with cheap beers, making this an ideal menu for a summer cookout.

RECIPE: Crispy Chicken Fingers

Ah, chicken fingers. The boneless brethren of the chicken wing and a staple of the fast food diet. Fry them up and dip them in your own homemade condiments; we highly recommend ranch dressing.

RECIPE: Loaded Cheeseburger French Fries

We'll let the picture do the talking on this one. These taste exactly like a particularly legendary triple-decker burger from a ubiquitous burger chain.

RECIPE: Lucky Lengua Beef Tongue Tacos

Elevate the ubiquitous soft-shell ground beef taco by using a cut of beef that you won't find at any American chain restaurants: the tongue. Nothing like a little lengua to spice up your meal, and hey, these tacos might just be authentic.

RECIPE: Perfect Cheeseburger

As Matty Matheson shows us, perfection is attainable if you follow his recipe for the ultimate homemade cheeseburger.

RECIPE: Boozy Chocolate Milkshake

Time for dessert—and booze. Well, we have another recipe that, while inspired by the classic diner shake, you're guaranteed not to find at Dairy Queen any time soon: a milkshake made with chocolate, bitters, and bourbon. It's a one-two punch of dessert and digestif, which you'll definitely need after tackling all of this good stuff. You're welcome.
