Bülow Wants You To Know "This Is Not A Love Song"

The virtually unknown 17-year-old Dutch singer gives us a synth wrap pop music gift.

Megan Bülow is a 17-year-old from the Netherlands and she also happens to, maybe, be a pop genius. Her first and only release so far, “This Is Not A Love Song,” is racking up thousands of spins on SoundCloud despite being virtually unknown. As of writing this, Bülow only has 54 followers on her account. But after listening to the bouncy, synth-saturated single, it’s only a matter of time before more people take notice. “This Is Not A Love Song,” produced by Mike Wise, is the lead single off her forthcoming Damaged Vol. 1 EP. No word on when that’s going to be out, but we’ll be watching. “Wish I could tell you that I love you, but I can’t,” Bülow sings.

In a statement to Noisey, she described the song, saying, “What inspired me to write ‘Not A Love Song’ was the excitement of meeting someone for the first time. Initially it felt so new and overwhelmingly good, but I think I just wasn't ready for that commitment yet. Or at least that's what I told myself. “
