Our buddy Spike Jonze has a new film coming out, and it looks weird, beautiful, heartbreaking, and any other adjectives you would use to describe a movie about a sad man's romantic relationship with a piece of female artificial intelligence. Judging from the trailer, Her will be like the funny parts of Weird Science, the sad parts of AI, and the parts of Annie Hall that don't feature Woody Allen talking to the camera. But because it's made by Spike, it will be its own creature that's unlike anything else you can think of, like Where the Wild Things Are, Adaptation, and Being John Malkovich all are. So get excited. It's going to be a good one. Even if it prophecies a future in which robots break humans' hearts, and vice versa, leading to the robots vs. humans world war we all know is coming.
