Roman Coppola's New Film Features Bill Murray In a Cowboy Hat

Roman Coppola, the son of Francis Ford and brother of Sofia, hasn't made a film since his directorial debut, the sci-fi comedy CQ, in 2001. After watching this trailer, all we can say is: it's about time he sat himself back down in that director's chair.

After co-writing fellow filmmaking chum Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom, Coppola got behind the camera to direct A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III, a zany comedy with Charlie Sheen, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman, Aubrey Plaza and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. It's a '70s-set story about a guy named Charles (Charlie Sheen!) who, after being ditched by his girlfriend, recoils into his own fantasy world - which includes none other than Bill Murray dressed up like John Wayne, and Jason Schwartzman donning an impressive fro and looking like Elliott Gould back in the day. So it seems the star of Looper has gone all Woody Allen on us. It happened to Ryan Gosling; it happened to Dustin Hoffman; Christ, it even happened to Keanu Reeves! All the actors want to grab a hold of a camera these days.

Just yesterday we revealed the 2013 Sundance lineup featuring, among others, Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s first film as director, Don Jon’s Addiction. It’s a film about a sex-addicted Don Juan character (Levitt) who endeavours to change his seedy ways. We're not sure he does, though.

Here’s a film that’s perked our ears up recently. Not least because the original score is provided by the uber-cool Bradford Cox of Atlas Sound and Deerhunter (a reference to The Deer Hunter? Who knows?).

Directed by Matt Wolf (Wild Combination), Teenage charts the invention of the American teenager and youth culture in the USA. The film will be released next year, and it looks/sounds awesome! Take a peek yourself and let us know what you think.
