Simonide Dogman - ”Fully Legible, Barely Audible”

The Norwegian duo's summer project is so clean that the tones pierce my brain.

Simonide Dogman is what two Norwegian friends call their experimental summer project (who I think are humans despite their name). On their debut EP, Official Statements, each track has had a limited timeframe of five hours to be produced, recorded and mixed.

Listening to ”Fully Legible, Barely Audible” I’m not sure where this project is taking my mind. They told me in an email that this procedure has given the tracks an ”unwashed and dirty feel”, I’d say it sounds wonderfully polished and so clean that the tones pierce my brain. Wait. I think I’m suffering from a minor brainwash (I was actually picturing brown unicorns in front of me for a while when I first heard this).

Listen to the premiere of ”Fully Legible, Barely Audible” above. The EP, Official Statements, will be released this Friday – free as a bird – on Spotify, and iTunes.
