Question Of The Day

What Will You Hallucinate Before You Die?

"A room full of beautiful ladies."

No matter how many Facebook friends or iPods you have, one day you too will die. I know, it isn't a pleasant thought, but it's the inevitable future and we should all just learn to deal. What are more interesting than the eternal gloom that will follow your brief and unfulfilling life, are the short moments leading up to it. Everybody wants to know what it feels like to die, right?

This week a study on rats has been trying to pick apart the idea of a near-death experience by explaining the "flashbacks" and heightened sense of self-awareness as simply a "surge of activity within the brain". Romantic. Even if that's the case, chances are that surge will still be pretty trippy. We turned to the public and asked: What will you hallucinate before you die?

Annons

Cyan Jordan: Maybe something to do with puppies – I love dogs.

Okay, anything else?
Just a lot of puppies.

That actually sounds pretty nice. So it wouldn't be so bad to die?
I don’t wanna die now because I’ve got a lot of things coming up.

I'm sure old people feel that way, too.

Raphaela: Probably the best points which have happened in my life.

That's pretty unimaginative.

Kallistratis: A room full of beautiful ladies.

Now we're talking. Maybe you could hang out with them in the afterlife?
I’d like to think there’s an afterlife but I don’t.

Do you believe in near-death experiences inducing hallucinations or visions?
Yeah. I believe there’s more out there than just this world; some people can see into the next one.

Spooky. If life after death did exist, what would it be like?
One long party.

Word.

Agne: Paradise.

Describe your paradise.
Light, yellow and nice.

A bit like wee. Is there anyone there with you? Like, Robin Williams or something?
No people and no animals. Just light.

That's quite lonely but fine.
