It should come as a surprise to no one that some cooks don't like help in the kitchen. Still, others REALLY don't like help in the kitchen.

An unnamed 26-year-old man from Detroit is decidedly in the latter category. According to reports, the man lost it—big time—on his wife and a family friend this week. Because they stirred his chili.

Yes, his chili.

The aforementioned family friend explained to Officer Jennifer Moreno that the stirring made the home-cook go positively bonkers: "He said that the suspect had bit and stabbed him,"Moreno told The Detroit News.

The victim apparently flagged down officers in the area who were conducting a traffic stop. Imagine the officers' surprise when they got to the chilling root of the matter in question.

The hot-headed cook was evidently preparing a very-late-night meal—the incident took place just after 5:10 AM last Friday. The gentleman who was stabbed was sure of the cause: he said the attack occurred because the chef "was unhappy about him stirring the chili."

The victim was taken to a local hospital with bite and stab wounds to the thigh. We won't even speculate as to what the scene looked like when the stabbing and thigh-biting took place. The injuries, fortunately, were determined not to be life threatening. The wife of the violent cook was injured in the attack but not badly enough to require hospitalization.

You may think that violence around cooking is a rare occurrence, but you would be wrong. Let us remind you of a story we reported last September when a barbecue pitmaster threw an entire smoking brisket at a woman's head at the Kentucky State Barbecue Festival. No explanation was given for the flinging of the beef there.

And if that didn't convince you, maybe you should take another trip down memory lane to the passionate tale of the 21-year-old Italian working in an Australian pizzeria. Basically, the man got into a heated argument regarding pizza technique and decided to chase a fellow employee around the kitchen with a knife.

At least we know why our unnamed Detroit perpetrator took out his aggressions on his friend and his wife and decided to get all stabby.

They stirred the chili, after all.
