Paris - Skinheads Vs. Bikers

The former leader of the French skinheads just opened a new bar in Paris called Le Garage. If you're up for a mixed crowd of death metallers, football hooligans, Hell's Angels and biker sluts, you should go say hello to Serge Ayoub. He founded the Revolutionary Nationalist Youth movement back in the 80s. Just type in "JNR" to dailymotion.com to see him in the days where he swore to fight at least once a day for the rest of his life. The guy sure had violence issues but he still wasn't the basic Nazi skinhead. His big mouth and sweet voice made him kind of a mediatic French star that once dated pornstar Tabatha Cash, did time in jail for steroids smuggling, then became a member of a biker gang.

Vice: How did you became a skinhead?
Serge: When I was 14, my mother sent me to Oxford for a school trip.I hated those disco parties they had so I started a fight, found myself in the streets with a bottle of Pernod, met a 13-year-old punk girl that drank the best part of my bottle and introduced me to her boyfriend who was wearing an Anti Disco League T-shirt. That's how I discovered the skinhead movement. They had the best style, very graphic, they were listening to the best music, Sham 69, Skrewdriver, Combat 84, Violators. Most of all, they were strong and reliable. The morning after we met, they beat the shit out of every guy from my school group, except me. That's how I found a true family. I could have become a punk, but punks were just punks; they had no aim, no will, they were just drinking and fucking. I wanted to fight for a great cause, I wanted to change the world for a better one.

By becoming a racist skinhead?
I'm not a racist. I'm an ethno differentialist. I think men are like dogs; you have poodles and greyhounds. I prefer greyhounds, they are better looking and they run faster.

Who were the strongest redskins or skinheads?
Red skinheads were bullshit, they didn't even exist in the 80s. Now everybody thinks skinheads in France were red ones but that's a lie. History is just a lie that became true, anyway.

So, you're not a skinhead anymore?
Mid 90s, the whole skinhead movement went down. Everybody wore Dr. Marten's and bombers - even fags. Skinhead music became shitty, there were techno and hip hop bands that were 10 times edgier than oi bands. The rebellion was just gone, that's why I became a biker. When you're a biker gang member you don't live inside the society anymore, you live in a gang. Our club is a 1 per center. 99 per cent of the bikers are nice, we're not. Bikers are tough guys. In Scandinavia they fight with bazookas, in Canada, a four year war between two clubs left 370 men dead. We are far from the skinhead pub revolution. When bikers are arrested police find 12 million dollars in their place. Funny that it comes from hippies and Vietnam vets. We are an underground society that runs all over the world. I can go from UK to Lithuania, from one club to another. It gives me the feeling to simply be free.

Bikers are famous for being drug dealers. What's your favorite?
Well, my club, they're not into drugs, and I have to obey our laws. As every poor people, we drink beer and wine. Drugs are for weak people anyway but I stand for the legalization of all drugs. I think we don't need any protective laws. For instance, if you kill a gay guy, you should go to jail for murder, right? But because of the protectiive laws you go to jail longer because the guy you killed was gay. Not fair to me. When you segregate the penalties, you do racism. I don't like to be classified, I like Japanese metal, I like oi music and I like reggae too. So what? I still am a Nationalist. And I like Frankie Goes To Hollywood too. That's gay music? If I had been sodomized each time I listened to FGTH, I wouldn't be able to sit anymore, dude.
