Jesse is a painter and record store guy (go to Shrine on 9th Street) who works out all of his heavy issues about sex in joyous depictions of porn-caliber fucking. “I think about sex a lot and I have a girlfriend, so these are a good way to maintain a monogamous relationship,” he says. “And I guess my stuff is also about me being a prude and having to accept that fucking makes the world go ’round. So I just stare it in the face.” If you’re a boy who first felt strange stirrings in your lap between, say, 1982 and 1988, you will instantly recognize the vibe of Jesse’s paintings. His primary inspiration is 80s porno mags. “It’s really Freudian,” he opines through a pretty little cloud of pot smoke. “I mean, I’ll never forget peeping at my dad’s stack of porn mags.” And even though Jesse is admittedly a bit chaste in life, don’t be afraid to tell him how much you like his hardcore objets.
