Rettsounds - My Mushroom Gravy Mix

I don’t know about you boney asses out there, but me and my fat gut love Thanksgiving. Besides the general joy of gorging myself into a stupor on food and drink, it’s also one of the few times during the year when my family can get together without breaking into fisticuffs. Who knows what it is that subdues our usual red-eyed savagery towards each other on this most special of Thursdays? Perhaps it’s the way we all gang up on our questionable nephew Zusaford and the phallic-shaped deserts he brings year after year. Or maybe it’s the amusement we find in the woman who shows up every year and insists she’s our great aunt. Typically, she ingests everything in the bathroom cabinet except my dad's Aqua Velva before we discover her half-naked and unconscious in the garage. But I think the thing that really gets us forgetting about all the years of stolen boyfriends, cash, and hip-hugger jeans is our Aunt Donna’s special mushroom gravy. Once we douse our turducken in that magical mixture and get a good bellyful of it, anything can happen. Last year, we went out into the backyard, rubbed dirt into our hair and pants, and eventually locked arms and sang the entire first side of Close to the Edge.

To avoid such an event happening this year (No offense, sirs Wakeman and Anderson) I made this mix for when the plates are cleaned and our brains are swimming. If you find yourself with a special Aunt Donna who provides such treats—and who doesn’t?—I recommend blaring this while you smear pumpkin pie into the rug and proclaim "My third eye is actually a boil on my ass!" You’ll be glad ya did. Trust me.
