The People Behind Blackpool's Horse-Drawn Princess Carriages

A new set of images from photographer Bex Day.

Horse-drawn carriages. Those words probably conjure up images of big country weddings; or Robert Downey Jr being a steampunk Sherlock Holmes; or any number of TV characters taking winter rides through Central Park in big coats.

What they probably don't bring to mind is Blackpool, the faded Vegas of Britain's north. But horse-drawn carriages are big business in the seaside resort, with a number of operators charging £20 a pop for a 20-minute ride down the promenade to Pleasure Beach.

Photographer Bex Day and creative director Reagan Clare recently spent some time up in Blackpool meeting and photographing the people behind the horse-drawn princess carriages.
