Magic Puck Takes a Hard Left Turn to Avoid Goal

Ben Scrivens got a little help on this one.

Ben Scrivens got the L in his first start for the Montreal Canadiens since being traded Monday—and his first start in general since last April—but he also got a little help from a magic puck. Halfway through the second period against the Florida Panthers, he made what appeared to be a fairly routine stop against Vincent Trocheck, as you can see above. But then he flinched and realized he didn't have control of the puck and it was trickling back behind him. He panicked for a second and then realized it didn't matter because … magic puck!

The puck was fluttering with such a weird bit of english that when it landed on the ice, it immediately took a hard left turn away from the wide open goal and into the safety of Canadiens defenseman Andrei Markov's stick. Unfortunately, three other pucks weren't quite so magical and Montreal lost, 3-1.
