We're not sure how a video featuring an Israeli soldier in the desert got paired with a disco house tune by a German producer, but the vid's sense of fuzzy nostalgia, directed by Hot Mess, is fitting for the throwback shuffle of "Elliot" by Roosevelt. A woman soldier is lost among sand dunes and stifling sun, suffering from animated GIF-type dementia and kaleidoscopic visions. But our 70s-era TV heroine soon discovers an oasis where she promptly sheds her gun and army greens for a skimpy bikini and the loving memories of friends and surfing. The tune is a disco pop affair with a bouncy bassline and cozy indie vocals. It was released by Greco-Roman and is available now on the Elliot EP.
