The United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP15) kicks off in two weeks and unlike what we previously lead you to believe, the COP15 is not all abouthookers and suits. It's also about the environment. In the slipstream of this global political event, rioters and protestors unsatisfied with the meager climate goals – an estimated 100,000 of them – are coming to town. We'll be there too, watching them. Most of them will just shout out mean stuff and frown really harshly, but the hardcore rioters are way past that point, as thisvideoby activist networkNever Trust a Cop(…yeah, we know) shows. We wanted to talk to these people calling kindred spirits to battle in the urban core of Copenhagen, and ask them how much wreckage would be a successful measure (and if they like Franz Ferdinand, as their track "This Fire" supplements their video). But after releasing a shitload of propaganda, Never Trust a Cop has dispersed and sunk back into underground hiatus. So what will happen two weeks from now? Hopefulness seems to be evaporating, sinceneither China nor America seems interested in making any real effort at this point, even though they've been lured by the prospect of a political agreement as opposed to a "pay up" legally binding one. A political agreement is more like saying "Just put it on my tab, Edna," before you stagger into your Datsun and crash into a crop field.
