Meek Mill begins his prison sentence today after a judge ruled that he'd violated his probation, but there's still something that you (yes, you) can do about it. We'd like to direct your attention to a change.org petition that is being supported through Twitter by Roc Nation, which manages him. Titled "Somebody Save Meek Mill," the petition is addressed to Pennsylvania governor Tom Wolf and argues that Meek "has made positive contributions to many communities and programs, dedicating time and money to the cultivation of our youth and neighborhoods; even through his own adversities."As we've previously written, Meek's sentence is not only unjust, with the judge handing it down against the recommendation of Meek's probation officer, but emblematic of the systemic incarceration of black men in the United States. The petition is currently at 174,000 signatures and climbing. The goal is 200,000. You can check out the petition to support Meek Mill here.
