    The man accused of killing three people at a Colorado Planned Parenthood clinic called himself a "warrior for the babies" during a distruptive court hearing. Robert Dear also shouted "I am guilty there will be no trial" while standing before the judge. —CBS News

  • Zuckerberg Wants to Protect Muslim Rights
    Mark Zuckerberg has vowed to stand up for the Muslim community, following recent outbursts of Islamophobia. Muslims are "always" welcome on Facebook and "we will fight to protect your rights and create a peaceful and safe environment for you," he posted. —USA Today

  • Chicago Mayor Says Sorry
    Mayor Rahm Emanuel has apologized for the first time for the police shooting of Laquan McDonald, conceding that it "happened on my watch," and promising reform. It did little good with protesters who gathered to chant "Rahm resign" and "Rahm must go". —NPR

  • Crisis at Chipotle
    At least 80 students at Boston College have fallen ill after eating at Chipotle, an incident which follows the closure of 43 restaurants last month because of an E.coli outbreak. The company has now promised to hire safety consultants and introduce stringent testing. —The Washington Post

  • Turkey PM Accuses Russia of Ethnic Cleansing
    Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has accused Russia of attempting "ethnic cleansing" in northern Syria. He said Russian air strikes were to designed "to force (out) all Turkmen and Sunni populations who do not have good relations with the (Syrian) regime." —BBC News

  • Afghan Airport Siege Over
    At least 50 people, mostly civilians, were killed by Taliban fighters in a siege at Afghanistan's Kandahar airport. The last of the Taliban insurgents who infiltrated the airport for 24 hours has now been killed. —Reuters

  • UN to China: Stop Torturing Prisoners
    A UN watchdog has urged China to end the "deeply entrenched" use of torture and ill treatment in its prisons system. The United Nations Committee Against Torture also called for a crack down on activists and lawyers to end. —The New York Times

  • Terror Arrests in Sydney
    Two males, aged 15 and 20, have been arrested by counter-terrorism police in Sydney, accused of conspiring to carry out an attack. The arrests are linked to a plot discovered last year, when intelligence indicated Islamist extremists were planning killings in Australia. —The Sydney Morning Herald

    For the first time ever, puppies were born to a surrogate mother through in-vitro fertilization (IVF). Cornell University researchers used human fertility treatment techniques in the birth of seven dogs with three sets of parents. —NBC News

    A petition to ban Donald Trump from entering the UK has gained almost 400,000 signatures. The size of the petition means Parliament must consider it for debate. —VICE

  • How 3G Will Change Palestine
    Israeli authorities had stopped 3G technology coming to the occupied territories, which meant even sending emails was barely worth the effort. A new agreement means 3G will finally be coming in 2016. —Motherboard
