The former UFC light heavyweight champion appeared before the Second Judicial District Court in Albuquerque, New Mexico this morning for the plea hearing concerning his April 27th arrest for a hit-and-run. The accident involved a pregnant woman, and Jon fled the scene before eventually turning himself into custody.UFC president Dana White flew in to be there, and watched maybe the greatest mixed martial artist ever plead guilty to the felony charge.The judge went easy on him, and granted Jon a conditional discharge—which means he'll be able to avoid any serious punishment as long as he fulfills certain requirements. That means no jail time if he serves the assigned 18 months of supervised probation and makes a significant number of charity appearances.This is great news for the 28-year-old, considering the seriousness of the crime. Regardless of how you feel about the man, he has finally caught a glimpse of the light at the end of the tunnel, and there is hope that fans will see him in the Octagon within a year.
