Some crusty old snowboarders were probably pissed about it when, for the first time in 30 years, the Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships were not held in Vermont, but rather in Vail, Colorado. More than that, the Open was split into two locations. The qualifier was held at Seven Springs, in Pennsylvania, in front of a bunch of bewildered western-Pennsylvania huckleberries.
