Titans Close Out Half With 80-Yard Touchdown

Zach Mettenberger threw an 80-yard bomb to former Pittsburgh wide receiver Nate Washington in the final seconds of the half to take a 17-13 lead.

Zach Mettenberger started off the game throwing an interception for a touchdown from his own 20-yard line. Mettenberger finished off the half throwing an 80-yard bomb from his own 20-yard line. Making it sweeter for Tennessee, or at least for one Titan anyway, former Steeler Nate Washington was on the receiving end of the big strike with under a minute left in the half. Washington was left all alone and Mettenberger hit him perfectly in stride for a dramatic reversal.

Moments before, a 14-play and seven-minute Steelers drive came to crashing halt when Ben Roethlisberger was intercepted in the end zone. The Steelers had driven 70 yards to the Tennessee 16 when Jason McCourty intercepted Big Ben. Tennessee took over with 44 seconds left and needed only 12 seconds to take the lead. The half ended on a Roethlisberger sack and the Titans went into the locker room with a surprise 17-13 lead.
