It's 2015 now, which means we are a good decade and a half into the Willennium, and Will Smith is still going strong. Sure, he hasn't recently pulled off the same kind of box office-decimating run he had between 1996 and 2006, but between the Oscar-baiting Concussion and his litter of star progeny, the man continues to kill the game.

But is that enough for Will Smith? Is he satisfied with just spending the rest of his career churning out Independence Day sequels and writing hit themes to roll over end credits? Of course not. He told Hollywood Reporter during a podcast interview on Wednesday that he's got his sights set on a whole new challenge—politics.

The world out there is pretty bleak right now, and Smith says that the political climate recently has "incensed to a level that [he] can't sleep." So he's planning to throw his hat in the ring "at some point in the near future."

What better way to harness his star power and ascend to new heights of glory than to run for public office, right? And if he can run down an unlicensed cephlapoid on foot he can sure as hell handle whatever political crises come his way.
