The arrests were followed by an indictment from the US Justice Department charging 14 defendants—mostly FIFA top brass—with money laundering conspiracies, racketeering, bribery, and a slew of other thuggish offenses, in a "24-year scheme" to get rich with kickbacks and fraud.
