Reddit's Jailbait Section is Dead

The media has finally shut down publishing's weirdest franchise.

So the inevitable has happened, the civil liberties of an unlikely clique of teenage boys and creepy older guys have finally been shit on by an unsympathetic internet thought police. No more sharing photos of saucy 14-year-olds for the followers of Reddit’s wildly popular subreddit, /Jailbait.

We pointed out the unlikely situation that Reddit, once part of Condé Nast’s digital empire, was a hub for fans of barely dressed tweens a few months ago. Frankly, I was surprised it managed to last so long without the mainstream media shutting it down. But then, a couple of weeks ago, CNN heard about it.

Right now every ephebophile on Reddit is freaking out, blaming each other for the collapse of their forum, claiming it was a new breed, inspired by the CNN show, that ruined /Jailbait.

Says one Redditor:

"What happened when the CNN program aired was that it brought attention to the fact that reddit had a r/jailbait, and that it contained something which the program called borderline kiddy porn. You know what happened? It brought r/jailbait to the attention of hundreds and thousands of people who never knew of the subreddit's existence." He might have a tiny, wee point, but it’s probably not advisable for Redditors to make themselves too comfy on their high horse. After all, reddit.com/r/malejailbait, reddit.com/r/niggers, and reddit.com/r/picsofdeadjailbait all still live together on the site in perfect harmony.

Odds are the subreddit was taken down because of threads like this.

And all the badly considered requests for private naked images of that kid which followed.

Anyway, even if its sister groups like picsofdeadjailbait still exist, it seems that this strange story of mainstream publishing rubbing shoulders with child porn is coming to an end. Another example of the civilization of the Wild West Internet of the 90s and 00s.

Somewhere, a fat pervert is crying. Somewhere else, someone's building a website.
