Question Of The Day

What's the Worst Thing You've Ever Been Caught Doing?

"I can’t tell you."

Two British girls (looking understandably bewildered above) have been caught trying to smuggle £1.5 million of cocaine out of Peru in food products. Being caught doing something with the inevitable punishment of being sentenced to a very long stint in a Peruvian jail probably beats anything anyone still walking the streets could tell me, but I thought I'd go and ask them anyway; London, what's the worst thing you’ve ever been caught doing?

Emily, 19, intern: Nothing.

VICE: Come on – there must be something.
Well – actually, I went on an exchange to America and I wasn’t old enough to drink. I was at a house party that escalated and the police came and I had to sneak out the back between these two huge Australian guys.

That'll do.

Sarah (left) and Tejal, both students, 18.

Tejal: I can’t tell you.
Sarah: Yeah, I don’t think I’d want you to know. This is public, right?

Okay, fine. When you got caught for said offence, did you cave straight away or hold out and try to cover it up?
Tejal: Definitely hold out. You can always get out of anything if you think about it.

What would you have done differently to the girls who got caught in Peru today?
I would have put it in kids' toys.

Fair enough.

Jasmine, 24 (left) and Alya, 25, both journalists.

Alya: Okay, well I did get caught by my parents sneaking a boy out of my window when I was 15. We were just chilling, but I was killed.
Jasmine: I haven’t been caught.

What haven’t you been caught doing?
I once took some hash through to the UAE.
Alya: Me too – through Thailand. I did almost get caught, but I guess it’s easier than people think.

Nicholas, 32, graphic designer: I’ve been really good. I haven’t murdered anyone. Not a human being, anyway – not that I know of.

That’s pretty morbid.
My parents caught me with porn. But that’s not bad, is it? It’s healthy for kids.

Not sure David Cameron would agree with you there, mate.
