A 6.5-magnitude earthquake struck the Pacific Ocean about 100 miles off the Northern California coast Thursday morning, the US Geological Survey reports.The quake could be felt as far south as the Bay Area and up north into Oregon, according to the LA Times. Though an earthquake of that size could do moderate damage if it struck a populated area, no property damage or injuries have been reported from Thursday's quake, and it was not strong enough to stir up a tsunami.The local paper in Ferndale, California—a Humboldt county town near the coast—tweeted that the quake was a "roller" not a "jolter," and that "not one picture frame was affected."One Ferndale farmer reportedly said that his "cows were dancing to the rock and roll."
