Money Flies All Over Providence, Rhode Island, After Bags of Cash Fall Off an Armored Truck

The drivers did the best they could to collect the loose cash, but ended up $20,500 short.

Money doesn't grow on trees, but it did fall from the sky Wednesday in Providence, Rhode Island, when a few bags of cash fell off the back of an armored vehicle, the Providence Journal reports.

The truck was headed into the main entrance of the Rhode Island Hospital Wednesday morning, when the back door popped open, dropping three bags full of money on the street. Before the crew noticed, another car ran over two of the bags, ripping them open and sending thousands of dollars flying all over the street. The drivers did the best they could to collect the loose cash, but came up $20,500 short.

A rep for Brink's told police that its security team is investigating how the doors managed to pop open, and the Providence Journal reports that law enforcement, as they often do in cases like this, has asked anyone who may have gotten their mitts on the free money to return it. But LOL, good luck with that.
