Joe Biden Thinks He Would Have Been 'the Best President'

That said, Biden says he's confident Hillary will win the Democratic nomination and become the next president.

Joe Biden told Good Morning America Wednesday he wanted to make a run for the White House last summer, saying that he thinks he "would have been the best president."

Back then, Biden was polling as the number one presidential candidate despite not even running, but after the death of his son, Beau, Biden opted to focus on his family instead of throwing his hat in the ring this election season.

Biden told GMA co-anchor Robin Roberts he has no regrets not running, saying he couldn't have put his soul into a candidacy because "Beau was my soul. I just wasn't ready to be able to do that," mirroring what he told Steven Colbert on The Late Show back in September 2015.

"I don't think any man or woman should run for president," Biden told Colbert in the tearful interview, "unless number one, they know exactly why they would want to be president, and two, they can look at the folks out there and say, 'I promise you you have my whole heart, my whole soul, my energy, and my passion to do this.' And I'd be lying if I said I knew I was there."

We may never get a chance to find out what a Biden presidency would be like, but we've at least got a few guesses.
