A group of med students cut off part of a newborn baby's penis during a delivery in Mexico, mistaking the kid's tiny ween for the umbilical cord. After probably sharing a brief "oh shit, oh shit, oh shit" moment, doctors quietly rushed the boy into surgery and tried to hide the accident from his parents, Yahoo News reports.

The infant's dad, Diego Rangel Izaguirre, started to wonder if something was up when he still hadn't seen his son more than two hours after he was born. Hospital staff told him there was a "minor accident" while doctors worked to sew the damaged peen back together. Then they fucked up again.

Surgeons ended up cutting the kid's dick three more times during the operation, making incisions up to two centimeters deep before finally getting it together and handing the boy back to his parents.

"This shouldn't have happened," said Zulem Contreras, the boy's mother. "They should have assigned a gynecologist to take care of him, not students."

The couple filed a complaint with the hospital, but hospital officials initially shrugged it off.

"During the cut of the umbilical cord," a hospital spokesman said, "the skin of the prepuce was accidentally injured and repaired through the usual circumcision process that was consented by the parents."

The hospital in Saltillo, Mexico, has since launched an internal investigation.
