While Hillary Clinton continues the search for a sparring partner as abrasive as her opponent, Donald Trump will reportedly be turning to ousted Fox News chairman Roger Ailes to prep for the upcoming presidential debates, New York Times reports.

Ailes, of course, has some free time after being forced out of the network he helped build due to allegations he sexually harassed female reporters and staff. Besides probably not helping with Trump's lack of women supporters, Ailes could bring years of political experience to the fumbling campaign.

Prior to working at Fox, he was a top aide to Richard Nixon's campaign and a lauded debate coach for Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush. He and Trump also go way back, according to Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks, who denied the reports that he was actively working for the campaign.

"Mr. Ailes and Mr. Trump have been friends for many years," she wrote in an email to the Times. "They speak occasionally, which isn't news."

Whether Ailes is coaching Trump or just trying to butter him up to get a job at Trump TV, the debates are shaping up to be quite a spectacle.
