A Child's Guide to Good and Evil

If Brendan Majewski's videos had dicks, they would get blown all the time.

I think the only movie I ever watched with Brendan Majewski was Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World. I remember not liking it much, but I don’t think it blew as hard as the Wesley Snipes movie Boiling Point.  I did, however, watch Brendan’s videos, and they don’t blow—in fact, I would say that if they had dicks, they would get blown all the time. Brendan passed away last year, but he left behind a shitload of good music, ‘zines, and videos for people to look at. Here’s a brief Greatest Hits of his video work:

I think the most popular of his videos is his power duo Orphan's “Penis Farm,” in which a good mix of Trenchcoat Mafia footage combined with various slaughterhouse situations are tempered with teenagers “performing” for web cams.

Brendan’s videos also contained a large amount of crappy fighting, like in the Orphan cover of Born Against. I think Brendan found this funny and probably could relate to bad fighters himself since he could’ve been a finalist in a Mr. Puniverse contest.

The most brutal of all the videos might be for Orphan’s “Swan Blood,” which contains a high level of political violence. Brendan did at least sneak in a morbidly obese child and cheerleading in for some comic relief.

I'm glad that more people are going to be exposed to his dark, witty perspective this weekend through "A Child's Guide to Good and Evil," a collection of Brendan’s work—video and music—with collaborations by a bunch of artist pals. Come by and remember all the interesting shit he left for us to go through.
