Officially sausages are made from a mixture of beef and pork with fancy herbs. What’s not on the packets are; Sodium Nitrate which gives you cancer or the ‘casings’ that are made out of pigs’ intestines. There’s also something called Yellow 6 which makes your wiener look a delicious shade of golden brown but on the down side causes tumours in your adrenal gland and kidney. Chuck in any left over bits from the plundered carcass of a factory-bred swine and you’ve got yourself a prime German wiener. Oh and recently a bunch of scientists did some tests and found that up to 15 per cent of German sausages contain what they call “undeclared brain material”.

Forgetting all this, we decided it was time to show the sausage who’s boss so we invited some friends over for an eating competition, taking on the sausage in its own back yard. The game: 500 sausages, 2 hours. People were sick, some cried and someone eventually came out on top. Lami is wearing top by Fornarina.

2 PM. Lami crams eight sausages into her mouth, taking the lead within the first five minutes.

2:07 PM. The remaining 500 sausages await their doom.

3:16 PM Conny chills out while eating his first sausage.

3:20 PM Caroline is one of the only girls who’s really going for it. She’s a bite away from ten sausages.

3:25 PM Tom celebrates his tenth sausage. He’s even with Severin.

3:28 PM Severin, almost at his twentieth sausage, stifles a few wretches.

3:30 PM. Conny is our only vegetarian contestant. These tofu fuckers are totally unappetising, especially when you’ve been partying the night before. Disqualified after three sausages.

3:45 PM. Tom takes a break. He’s on 19 sausages.

3:51 PM. The girls are all disqualified and start digesting in the corner of the room.

4:00 PM. Severin comes out second with 20 sausages and, while suffering, he squeezes out one last smile for the camera. Tom is the winner with 22 sausages.
