Watch the Nigeria Fashion Week Trailer Now

The next episode of Fashion Week Internationale starts tomorrow.

Nigeria's not like many other places on Earth, and as you'd expect, its capital city is emblematic of that. Oh, Lagos: where corrupt pastors fight to outlaw homosexuality in the name of the God they're getting rich off, while the country embraces camper-than-camp TV celebrities like Denrele Edun behind the Almighty's back. Where the glitterati fire champagne corks into the eyes of working class citizens who earn less than $2 a day. And where Nigeria Fashion Week pitches up billing itself (for the eighth time) as the "Going Green" Fashion Week, even though Lagos is one of the most polluted cities in the world.

Annons

Charlet Duboc and the rest of the Fashion Week Internationale team were lured over by this clusterfuck of contradictions, where they hung out on yachts with ridiculously beautiful Celine Dion fans, scam artists reborn as Christian fashion photographers, albino, neo-fascist R&B crooners and stylists who have to keep the whole 'gay' thing under wraps lest they be hate-mobbed in the streets.

You can watch episode one of Fashion Week Internationale: Nigeria Fashion Week at VICE.com tomorrow, but for now, be content with the trailer.
