Our photographer friend Yony Leyser found out about a nude figure drawing Meetup group held by dominatrices at a dungeon so of course he went. He told us it was run by a high priestess named Zaynab who refuses to refer to her place as a dungeon--instead it’s a “sanctuary” called Holy Mountain where "girls get to beat lawyers and traders who fucked the economy and the poor and call them 'little fucking bitches' while they wear baby clothes." Zaynab served edamame, hummus, and chai to eager middle-aged men in suits meandering around violet velour couches, pausing between charcoal scratches to glance for inspiration at the skyline through the windows of the front room. And wuh-oh, turned out his friend was one of the models. Here's his photos of what went down. People took the class pretty seriously and it was held like any other professional figure drawing class, except for the guy who kept disappearing to the bathroom for long periods of time, and all the bondage and shit.
My biggest surprise was when Zaynab asked the group during a break if we wanted this old skinny guy to join the ladies.
