Dear Cronaca

Cronaca Vera began in 1969 as a tabloid magazine of Italian crime. Since then nothing has changed.

Cronaca Vera (True Chronicle) began in 1969 as a tabloid magazine of Italian crime. Since then, pretty much nothing has changed. Printed on low quality stock, in black and white, and sold at the cost of one euro, Cronaca Vera consists of 15 stories—crazy, depressing, hilarious, local and national, but all of them true. It's the most popular magazine in Italian jails, it receives more than 20,000 hand-written letters a year from its readers, it’s one of the most idiosyncratic magazines we've ever seen and we love it. The VICE Italy office is filled with floor-to-ceiling piles of Cronaca Vera.
