Before we begin to tell you anything about her music, let's get this out of the way: Carmen Villain used to be a model. And, no, not like the girls who model on their Instagram and maybe appeared in their universities fashion show. Carmen has graced the front pages of everyone from Vogue through to Marie Claire and Nylon. Anyway, she's making music now and is set to release her debut album Sleeper on April 29. Drawing from a lineage of inspiration that includes Sonic Youth and Bikini Kill, she's creating the sort of aural pleasantries that often arise from anxiety ridden memories of the past.
