Brazilian-Heavyweight Renato Ratier Calls in Kyodai to Remix "Soul Machine"

When it comes to electronic music and the country of Brazil-Renato Ratier is a name everyone knows.

When it comes to electronic music and the country of Brazil—Renato Ratier is a name everyone knows. Not only is he the owner of internationally (and of course, locally) revered Brazilian clubs like Warung Beach Club, and D-Edge in São Paulo, but he's also a respected presence as a DJ mostly pushing the exciting blend of house and techno that has graced the halls of his own nightclubs for decades. Additionally, since the release of his debut album Black Belt in 2013, he's become equally-respected as a producer.

As the title track to one of Ratier's pre-album EPs of the same name, "Soul Machine" is a funk-fueled ride through tech sounds of all shapes and sizes—now in 2015, he's called in a diverse spread of artists to lend their minds for a remix package. One of those artists, is the Berlin-DJ and producer, Kyodai.

For his own version of Renato's track, the German artist presents a joyous, classic-tinged house vibe, choosing to insert the original's vocals for only a few quick measures. We also get a nonstop array of high-hats that lead the track all the way into its eventual eight-minute closing mark.
