West Brom's Berahino Laces in an Immaculate Volley

This is no mid-table goal.

West Brom isn't exactly the kind of team that you say "wow" about this season. They're just cleared enough out of relegation that you can comfortably call them mid-table. But let me tell you, there's nothing mid-table about this golazo from Saido Berahino against Crystal Palace.

After a tight series of counterattacking passes, Stéphane Sessègnon sends in what anyone who has watched five minutes of soccer would call a flawless cross. Berahino finds it with an outstretched leg, and just sends it to the back of the net with satisfying clarity. With West Brom up 3-1, and a handful of chances, it's fair to say this mid table team is looking quite… top table—at least for one game.

UPDATE:

Did you think Crystal Palace was going to take this all lying down? The score wrapped up at 3-2 in West Brom's favor, but Crystal Palace wanted to make at least a sold last-second threat with a volley of their own from Connor Wickham. Hard to tell whose form was more on point—Wickham's or Berahino's—but for some relatively ho-hum teams, this was an exciting one.
