Freya Esders grew up on the Sunshine Coast, never forgetting to take a disposable camera on sleepovers and school camps. Working with musicians, magazines, and fashion labels, Esders’ work has taken her to Iceland, Japan, and beyond. She’s still obsessed with photographing her friends, too––although the sleepovers have been swapped for nights out, and in this essay the disposables are replaced by candid phone snaps.
