VICE Sports World News Roundup: July 3

Start your day with VICE Sports. Here's our morning roundup of the sports news from around the world

Good morning, America. Welcome to the VICE Sports worldwide news roundup. Here are your headlines heading into the 4th of July weekend.

It's the 3rd of July, 2015, and Sepp Blatter is still president of FIFA.

The US has requested extradition for seven FIFA officials in Switzerland. From the Guardian: "The officials—who include FIFA vice-presidents Jeffrey Webb and Eugenio Figueredo—may face months in detention while the requests are processed."

It looks like CONMEBOL President Juan Ángel Napout won't be handing out the trophy to the Copa America winner this weekend. Napout has been holed up in Paraguay since the FIFA scandal got under way and is scared to travel. The Copa America final will kick off tomorrow at 3 pm Eastern Time.

In an awkward, rambling video message, Al Pacino has wished Argentina luck in the Copa America final. Watching Argentina play gives Mr. Pacino great joy. Who knew? (Pacino's girlfriend, Lucila Sola, is Argentinian.)

But the Copa America is not the only cup final this weekend! The Women's World Cup final kicks off Sunday at 7 p.m. ET. So. Much. Soccer.

And if those two cup finals aren't enough for you, the Pacific Games have just begun down in Papua New Guinea. The Federated States of Micronesia got off to a rough start:

30-year-old journeyman Wimbledon qualifier Bravura Dustin Brown scored a huge upset, beating two-time champion Rafael Nadal 7-5, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4. It's a bummer for Nadal but a great story for Brown. Who is he? According to the Guardian, Brown is "a man who spent three years living in a camper van as he travelled Europe trying to earn a living." I don't know about you, but I am a sucker for journeyman/women stories.

The Blue Jays signed Vladimir Guerrero Jr. His dad, lest you forget, was the 2004 American League MVP and a nine-time All-Star. The Jays are no doubt hoping the apple didn't fall far from the Guerrero tree.

Sad news from Australian Football League: Phil Walsh, head coach of the Adelaide Crows, was found stabbed to death in his home. His son has been arrested.

The opening rounds of England's FA Cup were announced. The draw includes many teams you've never heard of, including Cockfosters, Shepshed Dynamo, Biggleswade United, Bemerton Heath Harlequins, Runcorn Town, Pegasus Juniors, Godmanchester Rovers and VICE Sports favorite Kirby Muxloe.

And then there's the Emirates Cup
